As with the last two league games United started strongly enjoying the opening ten minutes but were unable to sustain the pressure allowing Chinnor to control the midfield which in turn led to two goals in a seven minute spell half though the first period which eventually proved to the difference between the two teams.
United forced a corner on two minutes but were penalised for a foul on visiting keeper Ben Taurnton from the resulting kick while Rupen Limbu saw his effort blocked on five minutes and Taurnton caught well under pressure shortly afterwards.
As Chinnor got back into the game Harry Stiff saved well on the quarter hour mark but was unable to prevent wing back Tom Folley opening the scoring on twenty minutes when he found himself unmarked in the penalty area.
Omar Cofie was denied when Taurnton saved at full length from his shot five minutes later but with United lacking tempo and intensity in their play Chinnor’s Stuart MacLellan put a free kick wide of the upright before a cross field ball found Ed Barnett who side footed Oli Bridges before extending the lead.
Stiff saved well on the half hour only for the effort to be ruled offside before United finished the half the stronger with a quick free kick by Dan Faherty found Limbu who in turn fed left back Matt Leigh on the overlap only for Leigh to shoot into the side netting with five minutes remaining while debutant Nathanial Richardson was denied as he chased down a long ball which Taurnton cleared outside his penalty area.
The start of the second half saw the introduction of Matt Brookling who tightened up the home team’s defence as United enjoyed better possession higher up the park and created chances without troubling Taurnton as both Cofie and Robinson saw efforts go wide.
Chinnor’s best chance of the half fell to James Bonwick who hit the side netting with twenty minutes remaining which was immediately followed by Chinnor being reduce to ten men with the dismissal of MacLellan for kicking Creegan following a challenge. Notwithstanding their numerical advantage United were unable to capitalise on what overall was an under par performance compared to recent weeks.
