In front of its highest home crowd of the season, United completed a memorable eleven days in its history winning four of five league matches and in doing so finished in its highest league position of the season, one place above the relegation zone having been bottom of the table for the majority of the campaign and as recently as the day of its penultimate game.
Woodley knew a win was important notwithstanding other results on the evening and got off to the perfect start when Dylan Clark scored from distance across visiting goalkeeper Henry Ford and into the far right side netting. Buoyed by the goal United could have gone further ahead within the opening ten minutes only to see Ty Moorcroft shoot wide and Ellis Wint head onto the top of the goal netting.
Such was United’s dominance that it was not until midway through the half that Jets started to trouble the home defence but once again captain Keiran Maylen and his co-defenders were equal to the task.
Woodley steady the threat by doubling their lead in the twenty ninth minute with George Day heading into the net from close range from a long Moorcroft throw. Seven minutes later fortune favoured the home team when Oxhey’s Dom Mosca blazed his penalty kick over the crossbar.
Unted finished the period as it started it with Clark scoring his second of the match shooting through a crowded penalty area in the first minute of stoppage time.
Seven minutes into the second half Moorcroft found the net and the same player completed the scoring in the eighty first minute slotting home after the ball to him off the cross bar from Mackenzie Creech's header following a cross from Prince Alozie.
The one downside of the evening saw Jude Van Spall substituted and needing hospital treatment for a shoulder injury.
