Suckling's late header gives United the win.

United made it back to back wins in giving their best performance of the season at high flying Molesey. Although the opening twenty five minutes were even possession wise, the hosts were the more dangerous with their possession that saw them looking to attack and move the ball quickly.

Woodley lost possession following a quickly taken free kick that resulted in the Moles Saad Haidious seeing his shot saved by United’s Alex Londors in the sixth minute. Ten minutes later Blessing Hombessa broke free on the home team’s left hand side and curled a shot narrowly wide of Londors’ left hand post. This was followed shortly afterwards when Londors tipped Tevon Webster’s long range lob over the cross bar.

Having survived these scares Woodley became tighter out of possession and started to have attempts on the home goal. Tahir Carmichael saw a free kick comfortable dealt with by home keeper Macauley Brown after twenty six minutes play, Connor Suckling shot wide following good play and the increasingly dangerous Connor Richardson forced a corned.

With the game entering the last minute of the half Manny Adu Essah blocked Haidious as he was preparing to shot from close range while Sid Gbla narrowly failed to get onto the end of Richardson’s cross.

The visitors’ started the second half playing high tempo football with Richardson, Suckling and Gbla causing the home defence problems and forcing the Moles to defend deeper towards their own goal. Richardson saw a shot parried by Macauley and cleared to safety by a defender as Gbla was preparing to shoot in the forty seventh minute and then Richardson shot weakly at Macauley two minutes later.

Centre back Kasper Lok forced a corner from a United free kick, Macauley parried a Gbla shot and Carmicheal headed the ball onto the roof of the goal net from a Suckling corner. Moseley’s best effort in this fifteen minute spell was a shot that hit the base of Londors’ left hand post on the hour mark. United continued to be positive with Macauley using his feet to deny Gbla and Gbla having a goal disallowed on sixty four minutes after a foul on the home keeper at a corner kick.

The seventy fifth minute saw Woodley hit the base of the goal post with the ball rebounding to Macauley with Gbla well placed to shot. United finally got the all-important goal in the eighty fourth minute when Suckling’s glancing header from a free kick when inside the far post with the aid of a slight deflection.

Suckling’s joy was short lived when he received a second yellow card two minutes later. However, despite playing the final ten minutes of the match with ten players Woodley worked hard to preserve the three points.

Londors, Adu Essah, Davies (Jeczalik), Carmichael, Nwokobia, Hok, Suckling. Bell (Brandao), Gbla, Carolan (K DeBarros), Richardson Subs not used: Beraima and Mabukwa
