First win of the season secured with sub Connor Richardson's header stoppage time goal.

As with last season’s fixture between the two teams United scored late into second half stoppage time. However, on this occasion the goal gave the visitors all three match points and their opening win of the new campaign in what is probably the latest recorded score in the club’s history at fifty seven minutes into the half.

Playing down the slope United started lively getting the ball into good wide positions while long throw ins where causing the home defence problems and saw Josh Nwokobia heading straight at home keeper Tiago Santos-David in the sixth minute.

As with their previous two outing Woodley took an early lead. On this occasion, possession was won in the Bagshot left back position which resulted in Dan Watkiss’ passing across the field pass to McKoy Palmer where the winger cut insider his marker and drive a low shot inside Santos-David’s right hand post in the twelfth minute.

Two minutes later Santos-David dived to this right to push away another Nwokobia goal bound header with Nwokobia heading wide in the twenty fourth minute from Ben Lambourne’s free kick which was shortly followed by Bagshot’s Lee Banbury relived to see his attempted clearance from Connor Suckling’s cross narrowly miss his own goal for a corner kick.

The game they transformed into end to end attack with both teams good in possession but struggling to defend out of possession which allowed the hosts to have attempts on goal without troubling United’s Alex Londors until the forty fourth minute when he reacted quickly to block a shot that had initially hit a defender.

With the game entering first half stoppage time, Bagshot’s Filipe Daniel received the ball deep in Woodley’s left hand half and was allowed to reach the goal line before passing low into the goal area for Asher Pottinger to score from close range to level the half time score.

Connor Richardson was introduced at the match restart for the injured Suckling and was immediately in action with Santos-David using his legs to deny the substitute when one on one. Woodley’s Nwokobia was again denied by the home keeper from a throw in before the game was stopped to allow Bagshot’s Louis Barker and United’s Rafa Brandao to receive treatment following a clash of heads that resulted in Barker being substituted.

From the restart Bagshot started the better with Pottinger seeing a shot deflected for a corner and Abayomi Obafemi firing over the cross bar from close range when unmarked. United gradually regained a foot in the game and saw a shot stopped on the host’s goal line and Santos-David save well from Palmer in stoppage.

The deciding goal followed from a Carmichael’s corner which was initialled cleared of the goal line but was played lofted back into the goal area by Timi Kalejaiye where an unmarked Richardson headed into an empty net.

Two more minutes played followed before the referee signalled for full time and United the three points.

Londors, Davies, Jeczalik, Lambourne (Kalejaiye), Watkiss (Williams), Nwokobia, Suckling (Richardson), Carmichael, Gbla (Albanese), Brandao, Palmer Sub not used: Beraima
