Woodley were looking to make it three league wins in a row away at Kintbury Rangers and the game started on a crusty pitch due to the frost that very quickly became heavy in the centre of the pitch.
Kintbury had the first good chance. Oneal Garnes appeared to be fouled when challenging for the ball but play went on and Craig Hiscock had to intervene on the line when it looked like Kintbury were certain to score.
Woodley got into a good rhythm ten minutes in and with Jamie Fairchild restored to a forward role, he began to link the play nicely and really threaten the home goal. Carl Davies played Fairchild in, but a terrific last-ditch tackle prevented the shot troubling the keeper. Fairchild did open the scoring moments later with a left footed strike at the near post.
Woodley were playing some excellent football on a tricky surface. Chris Hatton was driving forward from midfield and Dan Jewell hit a fierce volley goal bound for it to be saved smartly by Kane Roberts.. The away side failed to turn all their pressure into goals and on the break Kintbury equalised through Paul Thomas on forty minutes and had their best spell of the game until the end of the half.
It was all square at half time and Woodley came out of the blocks quickly and produced a stunning fifteen minutes of football that produced five goals. Davies set up Hatton when he received a cutback from Davies and fired through Roberts’ legs to restore Town’s lead on forty nine minutes. Fairchild then calmly squared for an easy tap in for Davies to get his first six minutes later and Luke Williams put Davies through on goal on fifty seven minutes for the front man to find the far corner with ease.
Leading four one and playing with ease Town continued to dominate. Nick Edwards crossed just too far in front of Davies but Luke Williams slotted the ball home at the far post to score his tenth of the season.
The scoring was completed with Hatton returned the favour to Davies as he clipped in a delightful cross onto Davies’ head with twenty five minutes remaining.
Leading 6 - 1 Sam Cripps, Eden Peters and Tom Williams were introduced. Tom Williams thought he had scored when his shot hit the near post and went across the line.
It was another impressive victory for Woodley and they now sit sixth in the league with third placed Henley Town visiting next Saturday.
