United went into their home fixture with Chalvey Sports looking to halt a run of fixtures that has seen them lose four out of their last five. Going into the break three goals down, Woodley rallied in the second half but were only able to pull two goals back.
The half started with both sides creating chances from corners. A low delivery by United captain Teddy Thomas picked out Leon Mannion who had his goal-bound effort headed clear from practically the goal line. At the other end Chalvey took the lead on four minutes when Jason Marney turned in a left wing delivery at the near post.
After going ahead, Chalvey went on to dominate the half and nearly doubled their lead in the next attack when Bryan Taylor hit the right post from twenty yards. The same player then saw his ambitious effort from out on the right land on the roof of the net.
The hosts were struggling to create much; right back Freddie Barron saw his cross gathered at the near post by Liam Nash in the away goal whilst an Adam Barnard free kick was cleared to Mannion who missed the target with a difficult chance.
In between those opportunities Taylor showed excellent technique to test Tom Bryant in the Woodley goal from just outside the box.
Eight minutes before the break, the away side increased their advantage when Tom Jansons effort found the top left corner from the edge of the box.
Bryant was then called into action to tip over a powerful shot by Taylor before Chalvey got a third on forty one minutes when Richard Jeffrey netted after United couldn’t clear a right wing corner.

Woodley started the second half well. A nice move ended with a Mannion shot from the right saved.
Seven minutes after the restart United were given a lifeline when Max Laschok was bought down in the box. Jon Malone took the resultant penalty, sending Nash the wrong way with a strike into the right corner.
Moments after getting back into the contest a well struck shot from Sam Wood from the left forced Nash into a good save.
The home side made a substitution on sixty three minutes when Ben Clark returned from a lengthy spell out injured to replace Wood.
A further change was made four minutes later when Thomas made way for Chace Jewell. This also saw a change in formation to 3-5-2.
The match then entered a very scrappy period with lots of stoppages in play as the tackles started to fly in and neither keeper was troubled. Woodley made their final substitution with five minutes to go when Liam Wilson came on for Laschok.
United ended the game with their best spell of the match. Mannion saw his header miss to the right following a Wilson cross. A fantastic ball by Harry Hawkins found Barron, who in turn picked out Mannion, who couldn’t test Nash whilst Barron had an effort saved.
With the game in added time, Pele Hagger did well to block a powerful Jansons shot before Woodley pulled another one back after Clark turned in a Jewell cross from the right.
