With the temperature well above thirty degrees the sensible decision was to only play two thirty minute halves with both sides using rolling substitutions.
United started well with Josh Dillon looking a real threat up front. The new arrival had several chances in the opening stages; first he tested the keeper from eighteen yards, then forced another save from the left. On sixteen minutes Dillon got on the scoresheet when he got to the ball before the keeper and rolled into an empty net.
Minutes before the break Woodley had a scare when the keeper was forced into a decent save from the left side of the box.
HT 1-0
After the break each side came within inches of finding the net in identical circumstances. First a clipped ball found an orange shirt who saw his shot just miss to the right. Then a great ball by Kaser Chowdhary set a Woodley player clear on the left; prodding goalwards the shot trickled wide of the right post.
United doubled their lead mid way through the second half with a lovely move. Dillon held the ball up well before playing in Charlie Hiscox who teed up Chowdary.
With the game in its final stages Chowdary and Hiscox once more combined; this time it was the latter turning home from close range.
