U13 Mohawks continued their impressive start to the season with a narrow penalty shoot-out win over Reeves Rangers Hoops.
A slow start saw United barely break into the opposition half during the opening 20 minutes and despite a spirited comeback towards the end of the half, found themselves 2-0 down at the break.
The second half started with the same spirit as the first half ended and United managed to pull a goal back with a well taken goal by Tommy. Mohawks were now dominating the play and several chances came their way but the impressive Hoops goalkeeper was proving difficult to beat.
Their hard work was rewarded when Tommy produced a great bit of forward play holding the ball up in the opposition box inviting a challenge from the defender and the referee pointed to the spot. Kai stepped up to take the penalty which the keeper parried, however Kai was alert to follow up and bury the loose ball to make it 2-2 and take us into a penalty shootout.
Alfie, Tommy, Ollie and Kai all scored with great penalties and with Matthew making a great save it was left to Emmanuel to score the final pressure penalty to take Woodley through to the next round.
