League champions Ascot United made it four wins out of four from the meetings of the two sides this season.
From the offset the “Yellawomen” were lively with Olivia Glover’s pace on their left hand side a threat to the home defence, from their kick off that saw Woodley goalkeeper Jo Nowak-Allum save in the first minute for a corner kick. This was one of a number of saves Nowak-Allum made in the opening quarter hour.
The visitors opened the scoring on fifteen minutes. Following a throw in, Leah Littlechild crossed low into Woodley’s goal area where the unmarked Leah Roberston stroked the ball into the net.
Two goals in three minutes gave Ascot a three goal half time lead. Littlefield received the ball on the halfway line, ran at the home defence before slotting the ball past Nowak-Allum to be followed by Glover beating Nowak-Allum to the ball on the edge of the penalty area and knocking it goalwards for Robertson to score her second goal.
Five minutes into the second half Beth Lloyd further extended Ascot’s lead while Woodley defenders were looking for an offside decision. Two minutes later Chloe Melton headed Woodley’s goal from Kate Hudson’s free kick.
With Woodley reduced to ten players following an injury to Lauren Devlin, the scoring was completed in the seventy fifth minute through Kate Fox, following a corner, and whose effort went over the goal line before being cleared.
