The points were shared in this Berkshire derby with Eva Thomas equalising within a minute of coming on as a second half substitute in the seventy eight minute.
Woodley enjoyed the better of the first half playing with the sun behind them and using the wings to good effect and forcing a number of corners but all too often they failed to trouble ex-Woodley keeper Lisa Phillips in the visitors’ goal.
The only moment that Ascot threaten saw Nicole Haines make a good save to her left.
The second half was a more open affair which started with Maddie Sawyer forcing Phillips to save to her left ten minutes after the restart. Ascot responded and started to exert pressure on the home defence and somewhat against the run of play took the lead in the sixty third minute when Hannah Evans fired into the top right corner from the edge of the penalty area following Woodley clearing an Ascot corner.
The hosts responded and won a penalty in the sixty seventh minute when a defender was adjudged to have handled the ball however, the normally reliable Rosie Page-Smith put the kick over the cross bar.
Changing to a 3-5-2 formation Woodley continued to press with substitutes Lambourne and Harris-Steers dangerous. Phillips did well to push a shot over the cross bar and denied Page-Smith from a free kick before Thomas levelled the scores with eleven minutes remaining.
Woodley had a chance to win the game after a corner kick was twice cleared of the goal line in a frantic closing spell before full time was signalled by the referee.
