Woodley United Ladies come out victorious in the Jubilee Cup following a 3-0 Victory against Oxford City Nomands.

Tough conditions saw Woodley United Ladies come out with a 3-0 victory against Oxford City Nomands in their 3rd meet of the year. Following the game, we caught up with Mark Page-Smith, Rosie's father and a big supporter of the team.

The ladies continue their victorious 2018, with a 3-0 victory over Oxford City Nomands, what was your views of the game?

I thought the ladies played very well yesterday in some horrendous conditions. At times we played some nice football and were dominant throughout the game. I don't think Oxford had a shot on goal, it was like watching spurs v arsenal the day before. The only thing Oxford done was kick and foul and play long balls so well done for playing nice football and not getting involved in the dirty stuff.

As a supporter, and a father, who follows the team everywhere, howhave you found this season so far?

As a supporter I think the team has come on leaps and bounds the last couple of seasons which is showing in league standings and cup runs. And as a father nice to see Rosie scoring just wish she would keep quiet sometimes.

This season saw a lot of new signings and integration of young players to the senior squad, how do you think they adapted to the team, and how do you think the old heads supported in their integration?

I think all the new signings have settled in very well and we now have a very solid squad. To think that, of our regular starting line up, our oldest players are about 21 shows what a good team we've become and with experience we will become even better. The older girls are all very calm and encouraging and you never hear them moaning at players if a mistake is made - only encourage.

First semi-final of the season next week, against Maidenhead and a few ex Woodley players, what can the team achieve?

First semi final of the season and we are going to be missing a few key players but as hard as it will be. Go out and enjoy it would be nice to get as result but, learn, have fun, work hard and you never know what we are capable.

If you had a particular message to share to the whole squad, what would that be?

Like I said above ladies have been superb this season played some lovely football defended well scoring goals keep playing like they are and enjoy it.

Final question, and most important - what do you think the girls can achieve this year>

I think the league is a very big possibility also the jubilee cup, as for the other 2 cups who knows just enjoy them and see what happens.

The ladies travel to Maidenhead on Sunday 18th February, for the Semi Final of the Berks&Bucks competition. Maidenhead are currently 2 divisions higher, and play at the same ground as their Men's section. Come and Support the girls in their first Semi-Final of the year.
