We caught up with young Centre Back Alice Cooke to get her views on the victory over league leaders in the League Cup

Woodley Ladies continued their 2018 fixtures with a victory over league leaders,Barton, in the League Cup competition with a convincing and expressive 6-1 victory, with goals coming from May Hamblin(3), Rosie Page-Smith,Mollie Haines and an Own Goal.

Post game we caught up with Alice Cooke, who joined Woodley United recently to get her thoughts on the game.

6-1 victory against a tough opposition in the league cup, what your thoughts on the game?

I am very please with the result, we definitely deserved the win.

Joined us a couple months into the season, what's been your views on the season so far and the team?

It’s been good - I'm enjoying being part of the team and playing with the rest of the girls, majority of the games are played at a high standard and I think I’ve fitted it well.

What's been the surprises coming into a new team in your first year playing adult ladies football?

I haven’t come across any surprises yet, the jump from girls to women was what I expected, the ladies being much physically stronger.

As a Centre Back, key is to keep a cleansheet, and 3 in the last 5 games. What's your views on the consistency of defensive performances?

Keeping a clean sheet is down to whole team.

Wycombe next, an opposition familiar to you, what's the expectations for this week's game?

Wycombe was a though game last time but I'm sure we are able to keep up the consistency of winning.

]We ask this everyone, and certainly our favourite - what’s your individual expectations and team expectations for the year?

Individual, increase my fitness over the season and the team expectation is to go on at win both the cup and league.

The Ladies will face Wycombe Ladies at home in the league on Sunday 21st January. Come down and support the girls in what promises to be an exciting fixture.
