Against lowly Chalfont St Peter, Woodley started strongly and were rewarded with the lead after only thirteen minutes of play.  However, despite this, it was Joe Hill who had to make the first save of the game, which came in seventh minute of match when he blocked Jack Neckford’s shot following good work on the Saints’ left wing by Kane Ainsworth.

Nico Cammock was a constant threat in the first half with his runs from deep and crosses into the home penalty area.  Cammock’s pass found man of the match Sanchez Parkes in the tenth minute but the forwards low cross through the home goal area eluded Woodley players.  However, it was the same tow players three minutes later who gave the visitors the lead when Parkes rose to head Cammock’s cross pass Ben Gamage in the home goal.

A minute later Havey Collins forward ball was deflected by a defender into the path of Parkes, in the penalty area, but as he tried to control the ball Gamage reacted quicker to gather it.

United continued the pressure that saw Kaylum Barlow narrow fail to connect with Ornildo Shehu’s ball across the goal area, Parkes see and effort cleared for a corner, Gamage collecting the ball at the second attempted from a Cammock’s corner and Gamage injuring himself in denying Shehu on the goal line for another corner kick.

Against the run of play Saints levelled in the thirty fourth minute when Hill was decided at the near post by Daniel Amouh-Agyemang’s cross from outside the penalty area on Chalfont’s right hand side.

The goal unsettled United who did not recapture the fluency and urgency they had displayed prior to the equaliser.

Four minutes into the second half Barlow had a shot cleared of the goal line which was followed five minutes later with the home left back Kye Fearon being dismissed for a second yellow card.  Collins put a free kick onto the roof of the next and a minute had a opportunity to give the visitors the lead when for the second successive match Cammock won a penalty, this time being fouled by Gamage.  However, the Woodley midfielder’s kick hit the crossbar for a goal kick in the sixty third minute.

The game tempo slowed with Chalfont frustrating Woodley with taking time at restarts in play and the match becoming scattered with free kicks from both sides.  Gamage gathered the ball as Shehu challenged the goalkeeper for a Cammock cross, but it was the Woodley man for restored the visitors lead in the seventy ninth minute.  Collins played a free kick into the home penalty area only for Dom Wain to play it against his own hand as he attempted to clear the ball.  Gamage got a hand to resultant penalty but could not stop Shehu’s kick enter the net to his right.

However, Wain was to redeem himself in the fifth minute of stoppage time when he steered Max Drayton’s low cross into the net to Hill’s right hand side after United had lost possession on the halfway line.
