Nick Edwards, Adam Jeffrey, Steven Campbell, Eden Peters

Woodley travelled to Chinnor looking to gain their first victory of the season.

Playing up the slope Chinnor enjoyed the opening minutes with a through ball eluding two forwards and comfortably being collected by Craig Beales, on his first appearance of the season before Chinnor’s Adam Stallwood shot wide on six minutes.

Gradually Town got into the match and produced a positive performanc, playing the lion’s share of the attacking football and pushing Chinnor back into their own half with Adam Jeffrey lively and instrumental in much of the play down the right flank ably supported by Jamie Fairchild.

Rob Morley also making his first appearance of the season, made a great run into the box and when Jeffrey crossed perfectly into his path, he could not get enough purchase on the shot. Tom Williams had a good header, from another Jeffery cross, saved by the keeper but it was not long until Woodley broke the deadlock.

Williams picked out Nick Edwards with an inch perfect defence splitting pass and Edwards calmly side-footed past the keeper.

Chinnor did have two decent chances after slack marking afforded the time and space for efforts on goal. Beales made a great save to tip one effort over and the other chance went harmlessly wide.

The second half could not have started better for the away side. The low sun proved troublesome for the home keeper in the opening stages and Jeffery’s free-kick seemed as though it would be comfortably gathered, but it was lost in the sun and crept over the line to double the score on forty six minutes.

Chinnor then had a spell of ten minutes when they got into the game a little and matched Woodley with Gary Marshall with only Beales to beat softly lobbed the ball into the keeper’s hands.

The chances kept coming for Woodley and it seemed only a matter of time before Jeffrey, Davies or Williams broke clear. Davies had an excellent chance when he rounded the keeper, but dwelled too long before he was tackled for a corner.

Jeffrey shot wide from an angle, but he was getting joy at attacking the full back and delivering telling crosses. Morley had a good chance go begging from one of the Jeffrey crosses as he volleyed wide. Davies broke down the flank and crossed for substitute Steve Campbell to get his first goal for the club from close range and effectively seal the points with twenty minutes remaining in what was his first touch of the ball.

Chinnor in this time did have a couple of half chances but Beales was never stretched and on what was a comfortable night for Woodley another substitute, Eden Peters finished from six yards from another Jeffrey assist, to score his first goal for the first team for a 4 – 0 win.

The only down side was the loss of Warren Baxter to concussion resulting in the final five minutes being played with ten men due to all the substitutes already having been made.

Beales, Fairchild (Varndell), Christopher, Edwards, Nightingale (c), Baxter, Jeffrey, Hiscock, Williams (Peters), Davies, Morley (Campbell) Subs not used: Gordon, Breeney
