After the success of the previous weekend, this was poor fare with Chinnor scoring in the first minute and Town struggling to break down a resilient defence until substitute and debutant Matt Carter’s low cross to the near post enabled Dominic MacKenzie to equalise in the eighty eight minute, with his first goal for the club.
Town was caught cold from the kick off allowing Craig Johnston to shot unchallenged from twelve yards to opening the scoring. It was not until the twenty five minute that Chinnor had another shot as Town pressured for the equaliser but were thwarted by the discipline of the visitor’s defence and poor delivery into the penalty area that was ably coped with by keeper Ben Taunton.
The second half was a little more open and it needed Oneal Garnes alertness to save at full length a quick free kick while Town were still back tracking to form a wall to prevent Chinnor from extending the lead.
Mackenzie was well placed three minutes from time to equalise but pulled his shot wide but the forward was rewarded a minute later to give Town a share of the points. However, this would not have been the case had Carter not made a timely tackle as the opponent was preparing to shoot in the final minute.
