Credit to all involved throughout the season as club entered new territory

Woodley's maiden Hellenic Premier League campaign ended in defeat on an overcast Saturday at the end of April. Sitting second bottom at the start of the day, United had to win while Highmoor had to lose and Fairford had to drop points for them to finish fourth bottom and potentially avoid relegation back to Step 6.

Facing a Longlevens side that they beat 4-1 just nine days ago, Woodley battled to the end; however the busy schedule over the last month had clearly taken its toll with the away side running out 3-0 winners.

The first shot of the game came courtesy of Sam Guze whose shot from 20 yards was comfortably saved by Longlevens keeper Ash Wintle, whilst Toby Bridges' attempt from distance was also gathered with ease.

In between the United chances, Conor Linham failed to take advantage of a good opportunity when he missed to the left from the right side of the box.

Danny Horscroft was starting as the central striker for the first time this season with most of Woodley's play involving him. A lovely turn freed up space but unfortunately his powerful shot was blocked by a defender who threw himself in front of the ball.

United's final chance of the half fell to Guze. Cutting in from the left his shot narrowly evaded the top right corner.

A minute before the break saw Longlevens go ahead when a left wing cross was headed in by Brad Martin.

Woodley made a change on fifty three minutes when Liam Wilson replaced Luke Turner. This saw a change to a back three consisting of Joe Barley, Carl Prestidge and captain Idris Kamara.

Pressing for an equaliser saw two shots from Horscroft. The first missed to the left whilst the second forced Wintle to make his best save of the match diving to his right.

With twenty one minutes left, substitute Shaun O'Connor doubled his side's lead when he volleyed into the top left corner.

Before kicking off, United made another change when Barley made way for Dave Morgan; and then made their final change with fifteen minutes to go when Abdul Kamara came on for Pele Hagger.

You knew it wasn't going to be Woodley's day when a Guze cross saw both Wilson and Toby Briggs fail to gain control of the ball in the box.

The final ten minutes saw Longlevens' best spell of the half as United players ran out of gas. Linham hit the left post before O'Connor was denied a second by Alex Reed.

With the game in injury time, the visitors got a third when Linham found the right corner from a right wing cross.
