The opening minutes saw Woodley bossing possession without testing Kieran Beesley in the Didcot goal; the closest they came to opening the scoring was when a Danny Horscroft corner was hacked clear after a goalmouth scramble.
On nine minutes Didcot took the lead when Emmanuel Hammond nodded in a corner after a Joel Thompson flick on at the near post. Moments later it should have been two when Hammond went one on one with United keeper Sukhi Kang. Making himself big, the Woodley goalie saved well.
Looking for a response, a nice turn in the Didcot area by Dave Morgan resulted in a shot being blocked. Didcot were defending well, getting bodies in the way and protecting Beesley's goal. A good run from Greg Beckett cutting in from the left saw the ball break to Abdul Kamara who had his first time shot blocked by a red shirt.
It took until the final ten minutes of the first half for Woodley to really test Beesley. Both Beckett and Charlie Oakley forced the Didcot keeper into decent saves.
The last chance of a tepid half saw the visitors' Ross MacDonald just miss to the left from eighteen yards.

The second half got underway with Beesley being called into action once again. First he saved a Josh Drew effort from distance before an acrobatic save maintained his side's lead after a defender nearly put an Abdul Kamara cross into his own net. The resulting corner was headed wide by Morgan.
On fifty seven minutes Drew was sent off for an off-the-ball incident. This was to signal a change in the game's atmosphere which had been played in good spirits.
Sixty seconds after the red card, Didcot doubled their lead when Charlie Noble headed into the right corner a left wing cross.
The two goal cushion didn't last long as straight from kick off Woodley pulled one back when Beckett beat Beesley at his near post with a shot from the right.
Half way through the half, Beckett forced Beesley into a smart stop after the United winger got on the end of a Morgan through ball before Noble headed wide as the game swung from end to end.
Despite their numbers disadvantage, Woodley were looking the most likely to get the game's next goal. Beckett missed to the left after a Horscroft free kick was blocked before the latter saw a curling effort narrowly miss.
United got fresh legs on with fifteen minutes left when Joe Painter replaced Teddy Thomas; minutes later they made another change when Toby Briggs came on for Abdul Kamara.
It was then Didcot's turn to have a player dismissed when Kieran Collins was shown a straight red for a hefty challenge.
However it didn't stay ten aside for long as Painter was also shown a straight red for a shirt pull in the penalty area. Noble stepped up and made no mistake from the spot.
The final chance of an incident packed half saw Beckett slicing wide from the left side of the box.
