Woodley got back to winning ways in the league with two second half goals from Nick Edwards and Ryan Witt, ensuring they ran out 2 - 0 winners at Chinnor.
Woodley had much of the play in the first half as Adam Jeffery, Luke Williams and Dan Jewell threatened in wide areas. Chinnor sat back and defended in numbers and dealt with most of Town’s crosses and got in vital blocks at the right time. Craig Hiscock glanced a header from a corner just wide and Danny Isaiew also headed wide after good work from Williams. Jeffery hit a good volley effort from the edge of the area which was cleared off the line as Woodley dominated.
Chinnor had one shot at goal which flashed wide but it looked only to be a matter of time before Woodley scored. The last chance of the half fell to Isaiew and he forced a good block from the keeper with his legs.
The second half continued in the same vein with the away side looking very dangerous going forward. Jewell had a couple of good chances, Edwards headed wide, Isaiew shot wide from promising positions and Jeffery and Williams were still tormenting their men.
Sam Cripps got on the end of a Williams cross eight yards out but smashed his shot straight at the keeper. Cripps' replacement, Ryan Witt was straight into the action and his shot from the edge of the area could only be parried into the path of Edwards who scored his second in as many games on seventy minutes
Chinnor moved more players forward but did not threaten the Woodley goal greatly it was the away side who continued to look more likely scorers and they doubled their lead when Witt scored from twenty five yards with five minutes remaining to get his first for the club and put Woodley out of sight.
Williams further tested the home stopper and Isaiew had a day to forget as he somehow stayed off the score sheet as more chances came his way.
Woodley now turn their attention back to cup competition as they travel to Bracknell Town next Saturday in Bluefin Insurance Brokers Challenge Cup.
