Early goal sees Town record consecutive league victories for the first time since early November.

Woodley started the game playing their preferred 4-3-3 after a change in formation from Saturday's win against Chalfont. After an impressive appearance as a substitute at the weekend, Tafari Downes started the game on the wing whilst Andres Rodriguez moved into midfield.

It was Downes who started the game well, linking up with right back Jon Malone for a one two on the right touchline. In a frantic opening start to the game, Burnham's Matt Day saw his effort from distance partially blocked by a Woodley defender; with all the pace taken off the ball, Dan Smith in the Town goal saved easily. Sixty seconds later Woodley took the lead when Downes coolly slotted home after picking up a Doug Groves cross from the left.

The home side were very route one; Smith, who was just outside his area, headed clear following another long ball over the top. Town were playing some good football, a nice move down the left ended with striker Steven Campbell missing to the left after receiving a Groves' pass.

Continuing to look the more dangerous of the two sides, Woodley midfielder David Stevens' shot from forty plus yards just dropped over the crossbar. Not only were they playing the better football, Town were also matching their opponents physically. Malone outmuscled Day before drawing a foul just inside the Town half.

Half an hour in and the hosts gave Town a scare when David Pitt burst into the box before firing a cross-come-shot across the Woodley six yard box. Burnham then got within inches of levelling the game when an Adam Goldie free kick was brilliantly tipped onto the bar by Smith.

Five minutes before the break, Rodriguez showed good strength in the middle of the park to retain possession before finding Groves on the left wing. He in turn passed to Michael Alleyne whose well struck effort missed to the left. Continuing to look to double their lead, a deep free kick from Town left back Jordan Goddard was only headed clear to David Stevens whose shot from eighteen yards was straight at Jake Stokes in the home goal.

That bought to an end a half where Woodley were well on top.

HT Burnham 0-1 Woodley Town

The second half started with Alleyne being harshly booked for the second game running before a lovely cross from Groves found Campbell who shot over from the left side of the box.

At the other end, Smith pulled of his second fantastic save of the game, this time from point blank range. The linesman however had his flag up much to the hosts' annoyance. Town then had a let off when the lively Pitt jinked into the Woodley box; beating several players his shot from a difficult angle on the right missed to the right.

On the hour Town made their first change when Alleyne made way for Timon Douglin. Woodley captain Gary Smith then did brilliantly to block a Burnham shot from the left side of the box before being cautioned for a challenge ten yards inside the Town half.

With twenty minutes left, Seun Odusanya replaced Steven Campbell. Burnham were much more of a threat in the second half; substitute Haydon Clack saw his shot from a difficult angle saved by Dan Smith. Gary Smith then headed clear a dangerous cross from the right. The resulting corner saw Burnham hit the bar for the second time; a header from four yards came back off the woodwork much to Town's relief.

Woodley made their final change with ten minutes remaining when Max Brown came on for Doug Groves. Town's final chance of the game came following a free kick. Brown made an instant impact drawing a foul on the left wing after a good run. David Stevens' deep free kick was headed back across goal by Woodley centre back Stuart Doe to Odusanya whose acrobatic effort went well wide.

The game ended on a sour note as Tafari Downes was shown a straight red card with Odusanya and a Burnham player booked in a fracas in front of the Burnham bench that involved a few players and several members of Burnham's coaching team.
