Woodley Town recorded back to back league victories for the first time this season with a great fight back at Chinnor.

The home side made the perfect start going ahead in the first minute. A long ball from the back found Jamie Essex on the right wing and he wasted no time getting his cross into the box which was headed into the roof of the net by Ryan Daly. Town were furious that the goal was allowed to stand as Essex appeared to be several yards offside when he received the ball. The home side were definitely the better team early on. Woodley keeper Dan Smith made his first save of the game after three minutes diving to his right following a free kick.

Town's first chance fell to striker Steven Campbell. Played through in the middle, he sliced his shot wide of the right post just before the ten minute mark. Up the other end, Jack Wright had a decent chance to double the home side's lead but he dragged his shot wide. Again the linesman did Woodley no favours as Wright seemed to be offside. Fifteen minutes gone and Town were finally getting into the game. A nice move saw Jason Awbery pass to Campbell, the latter's lay off was dummied by Adam Cashin-Murray but was unfortunately cut out just before it reached debutant David Stevens who was lining up a shot.

Town continued to press forward, Cashin-Murray shot over from long range before an Awbery free kick saw Campbell win the ball ahead of Ben Taunton in the Chinnor goal, Cashin-Murray got on the end of Campbell's header but his effort was deflected wide for a corner. Moments later Town were nearly punished; a slip by left back Matty Molloy on the half way line saw John McMahon race clear on the right. His back post cross found Daly in acres of space but he rushed the chance and missed the ball completely.

Just past the half hour mark saw a decent bit of play by Doug Groves. Winning the ball in midfield he drove down the left flank and into the penalty area before firing off a decent shot that was blocked. The visitors carried on creating opportunities, first the Chinnor defence showed good organisation to clear a Town corner off the line then Cashin-Murray, who had recently switched wings with Groves, flashed an effort narrowly wide following a good run by Stevens.

Town's final chance of the half fell to Campbell, played in on the right; Taunton was off his line quickly to thwart the striker. Then the home side had a half chance when Craig Faulconbridge headed over after a set piece. That bought an end to an even half.

HT Chinnor 1-0 Woodley Town

Minutes after the restart, Woodley had the ball in the net. Campbell finished his chance well but was penalised for pulling the defender back. Town captain Gary Smith was then booked for a foul 25 yards from goal. The resultant free kick was struck well but saved comfortably by Dan Smith. 52 minutes gone and a nice Woodley move ended with Awbery trying his luck from distance; the shot was straight at Taunton who dealt with it comfortably.

Ten minutes later and a Groves cross from the left was headed wide by Cashin-Murray. Then Carlton Cox was booked for the visitors for persistent fouling. Another good move by Town followed, Chinnor right back Alex Feaver had to be alert to get to the ball ahead of Groves who was waiting to nod in following a fantastic cross from Ben Gonzalez. 67 minutes in and the hosts doubled their lead when a mix up in communication saw two Town players go for the same ball. Neither got it and the ball fell kindly to Essex who went one on one with Dan Smith before coolly finishing into the right corner.

The goal forced Town to make their first change, Seun Odusanya replaced Carlton Cox. The change worked; 19 minutes to go and Town halved the home team's lead in spectacular fashion. Stevens picked the ball up in midfield and, with no pass on, smashed a wonderful left foot shot into the top left corner from at least 25 yards out. Minutes later Stevens was booked, then Michael Alleyne replaced Awbery in midfield.

77 minutes gone and the 4th goal of an entertaining game saw Town draw level. Odusanya held up the ball well in the box before Campbell showed great technique to volley into the left corner. Less than a minute later the comeback was complete, or so the visitors thought. A Stevens free kick was headed into the right corner by Alleyne, but unfortunately the linesman's flag was up for offside. There was at least one Town player in an offside position but Mikey wasn't one of them.

With nine minutes to go Groves sent Campbell one on one with Taunton. The striker got to the ball first, rounded the Chinnor keeper, then passed the ball into an empty net. Minutes later Town made their third and final change, Sam Barham replacing David Stevens who had a very good debut. The home side tried to get back into the game and Dan Smith had to be alert to save a Daly free kick. Down the other end Town nearly made it game over when a Cashin-Murray effort just missed to the left.

With the game in its final stages, Barham was luck only to get a yellow after a nasty challenge. However Woodley were forced to finish the game with ten men; with all subs used, Gonzalez picked up an injury and couldn't continue. Chinnor were then presented with a half chance: when Gary Smith headed clear a free kick, the ball was picked up in midfield and the resultant shot was tipped over by Dan Smith. Not an easy save either as the ball went through multiple bodies.

Town finished the game with five men in the book when a Cashin-Murray boot caught a Chinnor face whilst attempting a bicycle clearance. The resultant free kick found Faulconbridge but his effort just missed to the right. The final chance of the game produced the save of the game, Smith saving fantastically following a powerful Faulconbridge effort. Seconds later the ref blew for full time, Town showing once again that there is a fantastic spirit in the squad.

D. Smith, Gonzalez, Molloy, Doe, G. Smith, Awbery (Alleyne), Cox (Odusanya), Cashin-Murray, Campbell, Stevens (Barham), Groves.
