Danny Isaiew 4, Luke Williams 3, Jamie Fairchild, Sam Cripps

In the first ever meeting between the two sides Woodley Town ran out comfortable winners against Amersham based Amateur Football Combination members Old Challoners.
From the kick off Town’s tempo and ball retention left Old Challoners chasing possession but Town were guilty of failing to take their chances during the opening twenty minutes as the opponents goal keeper Tom Cornick looked nervous with crosses into his goal area and his full backs were unable to cope with the runs of wingers Luke Williams and Billy Gordon.
Such was Town’s dominance that their own keeper Impey Cooke – Chowdhary first touch of the ball came from a goal kick after ten minutes of play.
Chris Cannon ploughed a lone furrow up front for Old Challoners but to often he was let down by a lack of support from his team.
Two goals in four minutes mid way through the half from Luke Williams, who reacted first to Cornick parrying Danny Isaiew’s shot and then from Isaiew as he drilled a shot into the near post from a William cross opened the scoring.
However, it was a devastating spell five minutes before half time and during the opening fifteen minutes after the break that sealed the game as Town scored seven times, had two further efforts disallowed and looked capable at scoring with every attack as they moved the ball with ease.
Things could have been worse for Old Challoners had the referee taken action against a defender who fouled Gordon on the edge of the penalty area and who was faced with an open goal having rounded a stranded Cornick who had advanced beyond his area as he attempted to tackle the winger.
Isaiew completed his hat trick before the interval, his second goal coming from a multi passing move, while Williams reacted first to a loose ball from a Town free kick to score his second and the teams fourth.
Sam Cripps saw Cornick make a finger tip save from his shot in the opening minute of the second period as Town applied pressure.
Jamie Fairchild scored the sixth with a header after Cornick had parried Williams cross before Cripps scored the goal of the match with a drag back and turn to beat the advancing Cornick on fifty three minutes for the team’s seventh goal.
Isaiew scored his fourth two minutes later as he toe poked between a defender and Cornick before Williams completed the scoring on the hour when he was allowed to run and shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Wayward finishing prevented Town adding to their tally as they advanced into the third round to meet Binfield Reserves at home on 27th November.
