Woodley travelled to Didcot Casuals for a semi –final encounter which Woodley were fortunate to still be in after being put through due to Highmoor Ibis being removed from the competition for fielding an ineligible player. However, Woodley returned disappointed, as Didcot ran out the victors 3 - 1 capitalising on mistakes to meet Chalfont Wasps in the final.
The first half of the game was lacking in quality from both sides but Woodley came closest to breaking the deadlock as an Adam Jeffrey free-kick was turned goal wards by Nick Edwards but it clipped the outside of the post. Sam Cripps had two shots from the edge of the area that failed to trouble the Casuals keeper, while Warren Baxter made timely interventions to prevent goal bound efforts to trouble the returning Oneal Garnes from injury.
Woodley started the second half the more positive of the two teams and pushed Didcot back. Jeffrey was threatening out wide and Paul Holloway became a growing influence on the game. Didcot defended manfully and from a Woodley throw in their half, a slack pass allowed Powell to travel into the penalty area and from a tight angle curl the ball into the net.
Woodley responded well and Holloway raced into the area and forced a stunning save from the home keeper, before he drew Woodley level when a jinking run was squeezed in at the near post for his first for the club. Just as Woodley looked to get back on top in terms of play, they allowed their opponents to go back in front. A misplaced Edwards pass in midfield saw Didcot come forward through the heart of the team leaving Garnes exposed and good finish one-on-one made it 2 - 1.
Chris Waring was introduced into the attack and he could well have earned a penalty when he was clipped and he tumbled, but instead the referee booked the substitute for diving. In another penalty claim a defender appeared to handle the ball while on the floor as Didcot looked to hang on and Woodley committed more players forward.
With a minute left Baxter was robbed of possession as the last man and Garnes was beaten with a lob and Didcot ended winning the game 3 - 1.
