With a number of players playing together for the first time, it was pleasing the way the team gelled and moved the ball around showing good skill and creativity. Chris Park was active in midfield with Jake Brown and Scott Terry lively up front.
It was this skill that resulted in Brown opening the scoring from short range mid way though the first half.
With Andrew Sinclair and Darren West forced to go to hospital due to injuries sustained before the break Woodley's squad numbers were reduced compare to those of the visitors and it was White Eagles with the fresh legs that looked stronger early in the second half and levelled the scoring. However, a never say die attitude from John Mailer and Jake Bailey coupled with fine goalkeeping by Pete Davies weathered the storm and allowed United to regain the initiative from which a penalty was won ten minutes from time.
In keeping with his good performance Terry duly converted to give the hosts a well deserved win.
