Five goals, four scorers and a win sees Town finish pre-season on a high.

Woodley Town’s final pre-season friendly took place on Saturday against Berks County FC. Woodley started the game brightly and were presented with their first chance after two minutes with Adam Cashin-Murray slicing wide. Two minutes later Town keeper Dan Smith was called into action, saving smartly following a shot from a tight angle on the right.

Just after the ten minute mark the game got its first goal. A well worked set piece found down the right flank daw Lemar Maycock’s low cross find its way to Woodley centre back Michael Alleyne who drilled in from close range. And it was two seven minutes later as Steven Campbell rifled home from 18 yards. Moments later it was could have been three but the influential Cashin-Murray skewed his shot wide.

Berks then had their second chance of the match following a free kick out on the right, the set piece found a Berks head but the chance went wide. Berks’ best chance of the game so far came just before the half hour mark. Put through one on one with Smith the Berks’ shot was well saved, but in truth he should have found the back of the net.

The game had a bit of a lull ten minutes before half time with all the play in midfield. Injecting some urgency Cashin-Murray hit one form distance and this speculative shot just flashed wide of the goalies left post. Five minutes before the break Cashin-Murray turned provider as he put Campbell in on the left, the striker tried to pass it into the far corner but it was well saved. Moments later the two combined again but this time Campbell’s attempt missed to the left.

This was the last chance of the half and Town went in at the interval two up.

Eight minutes into the second half and the first chance goes to Berks, who capitalise. The ball was crossed from the right and despite Woodley best efforts to clear, the ball lands at a Berks players feet who halves Town’s lead. Woodley have really failed to get going since the break and not created anything by the hour mark.

However in the 63rd minute Timon Douglin pops up from the back following a short corner and scores with a header from close range restoring Town’s two goal advantage. The goal seemed to settle Woodley down and they started to create chances. Seventeen minutes from time sub Seun Odusanya makes it four with a curler into the far right corner from the edge of the penalty box. Odusanya then shows great strength to muscle his way through but slices wide. Another chance falls Odusanya's way four minutes from time as a sublime bit of skill by Jordan Goddard and a great pass sees the powerful striker go one on one with the keeper but his shot is well saved. He manages to get a shot away from the rebound but a Berks defender blocks his shot with a good tackle.

In the final minute of the game Odusanya gets his second and Town’s fifth with the best goal of the game that started with keeper Harry Smith rolling the ball to left back Matt Molloy. Town pass the ball up the field where Cashin- Murray finds Odusanya and he slots past the keeper following a through ball that split the visitors defence
