Town with a number of players making first appearances put in a good shift in hot conditions against their ground share hosts from the premier division.
Reading Town took the lead with an own goal from Mikey Alleyne as he attempted to cut out a cross.
Woodley equalised through Doug Groves to make it 1-1 at half time.
The game remained even until the last 5 mins with Timon Douglin gave away a penalty that was dispatched and a long range strike minutes later made it 3-1 to Reading Town.
All in all a good display encouraging display for the first game and with a few players still to come into the mix things are looking up for the first team.
