Match Report for U8's Tornadoes 4th March 2017

Match Reports 4th March 2017
Berkshire Youth Development League

Woodley United U8 Tornadoes v Barton Rovers U8 Raiders

A bright morning for the 12.30 kick off as Tom gathered up the boys for a quick warm up training & talk before the game.
The Tornadoes won the ball early with quick movement and getting the ball forward and succeeding in getting some corner kicks which put the pressure on the opponents. Keenan and James seemed very active in the first 10 minutes scoring quick goals and a few tipping over the top bar.
As the game moved on the Barton Rovers good dribbling and shots fired at the goal set the Tornadoes holding back, some hard work by the opponents showed they were seemingly well organised and prepared to give the Tornadoes a hard time.
Prayrit again showed he can be relied on in defence with some strung passes and clearance. Ashar made some good saves in the first half pushing out a goal placed in the corner.
The Second half started with some tough sliding challenges between the teams, Ashar now swapped goalie with Prayrit which has not been seen before, Prayrit and Ashar worked well in the each other positons, Zack really showed commitment for the team and really working in midfield and kept moving the ball to the corners.
A shock goal in the late second half when the Barton Rovers goalie scored with a big kick going straight in to the tornadoes goal.
The Tornadoes played a very sensible game, holding on to their positions and played the ball from Ashar to Zack then Keenan with a shot deflection from the right wing and James inside the D hitting the ball.
The game today showed Tornadoes can have too much confidence which quickly turned on them as Tornadoes relaxed and the opponent took advantage of this, but I’m sure this will give the Tornadoes something to think about and will be a good learning curb as they play with other teams in the future.
Player of the match, James for showing he now is becoming a confident mover of the ball and passing the ball.
Effort Award, Prayrit for great solid defence and winning the ball on numerous occasions.
