Match Reports 25th March 2017
Berkshire Youth Development League

Woodley United U8 Tornadoes v Wokingham & Emmbrook U8 Cougars

The Tornadoes started off well on a perfect (sunny) day for football and were soon building some nice attacks through excellent passing in the midfield. James was assured in the midfield which enabled Zack and Kennan to attack the ball really well. There were quite a few attempts made by Tornadoes in the early phase before the opposition started finding their positions and posed some good challenges. The combination of a very confident Ashar in the goal and the solid as ever Prayrit in defense helped by Adrian meant that for the umpteenth time this season the opposition found it really difficult to cut through the Tornadoes’ half.

The second half was dotted by some brilliant tackling and passes by Adrian and with Prayrit doing a good job in the goal, Ashar came into his own in the midfield. Zack showed great presence and had a few good shots at the goal with Kennan and James working well to create chances for the team.

Overall a very enjoyable match to watch for the parents and spectators where both teams played some high quality football. Both the coaches would have been really proud of the performance, and so were the parents at the end of the game.

Effort award – Adrian for holding the midfield together and helping his teammates all the time

Player of the match – James for the awareness and some brilliant tackling
