Woodley United were unfortunate in not picking up 3 points in an entertaining 1-1 draw with Le Galaxy. Both teams played some expansive football on the excellent 3G pitch at Piggot School, Wargrave. Woodley had the best of the early stages and had several chances saved by the Galaxy keeper. Despite numerous attempts on goal from both sides they went into the interval all square. Galaxy nudged ahead after 54 minutes when a pin-point cross from the right was nodded down giving Woodley keeper Kieran Ranoldo-Ford no chance. However, it only took Woodley 2 minutes to get back on level terms. A neat one-two on the right between Rob Timbers and Jono Malone allowed Timbers to drill the ball low across the goal for Kevin Finlay to poach a goal at the far post. Both teams continued to play good football and it needed some fine saves from man-of-the-match Ronaldo-Ford to keep Woodley in the game. The game finished 1-1 which was a fair result rewarding both teams for their hard work.
