Woodley United Sunday 1st Knocked Out of Tilehurst Charity League Cup
Woodley United slipped out of the Tilehurst Charity Cup 2-4 against Richfield Rovers Reserves despite a spirited performance. Woodley nearly edged ahead on 10 minutes when an excellent free kick from man-of-the-match James Timbers was parried by the Richfield Keeper for Jack Shone to head the rebound straight at the keeper for a fine double save. Richfield broke from this move and scored the first of 4 goals in quick succession. Woodley fared much better in the second part of the first-half and regrouped at half time. Woodley fought back into the game with a second-half brace from Rob Timbers. Woodley continued to press to narrow the deficit, but Richfield saw the game out to go into to the second-round draw.
