Woodley United lost 6-2 in a close fought encounter in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup versus a strong Crowthorne Inn side. Woodley went 1-0 down early in the first half after an excellent save by Woodley keeper Jon Norris unfortunately fell to a Crowthorne player who tapped into an empty net from close range. Woodley soon responded with two almost identical goals following good wing play from Rob Timbers and Jono Malone to assist Jack Shone for a brace of back post tap-ins from close range. Woodley led 2-1 at half time and looked the stronger team, however Crowthorne dominated for the majority of the second half. Crowthorne scored quickly after the break to make it 2-2 and continued to pressurise Woodley throughout the half to eventually end up 6-2 winners following a succession of well worked goals.
