Woodley United were unfortunate not to come away with at least a point in this closely contested RDSFL Premier Division match against Southcote Colts A. Woodley took the lead after 30 minutes when man-of the-match Ollie Jones put in a pinpoint cross from the left-hand side which was met by Jacob Flannigan who headed in his first ever goal for Woodley United. Woodley were guilty of lack of concentration at the back in the closing minutes of the first-half and allowed Southcote to score two quick goals in succession. Woodley always looked like getting back in the game and dominated in defence with the solid back four of Matthew Hayman, Jack Shone, debutant Stuart Hawkes and Jon Norris giving Southcote little chance. Woodley were reward after 55 minutes when Jones once again sprinted down the left-hand flank and crossed low across the box to give substitute Kevin Finlay a simple tap-in. Woodley tired in the closing minutes and conceded the final goal from a free-kick to give Southcote their victory.
