Royals make it three games unbeaten

A second successive hat trick for Dylan Chaffin saw the Royals move up to tenth in the league. United started well with Sam Guze and Ed Thomas both having chances to score but it was the visitors who took the lead from a unmarked header in the eight minute from a corner kick.

Unflustered by this set back Woodley saw Guze and Pele Hagger shot across the face of the Burghfield goal before Chaffin displayed good skill from twenty yards to turn and fire over Burghfield's Iain McCulley to score off the underside of the cross bar.

Two goals in as many minutes leading up to half time gave Royals a 3-1 half time lead. Guze scored the first on forty two minutes and when Thomas was fouled in the penalty area a minute later Chaffin converted the spot kick.

The lead was extended four minutes after the restart with Ben Anderson converting a free kick from just out side the penalty area low inside McCulley's right hand post. Chaffin completed the scoring and his hat trick in the fifty third minute.

Although there were no further goals this is partly due to some fine goalkeeping late in the game by Royals' Pete Davies as Burghfield tried to make the most of playing with the wind and rain behind them.
