Post Match Interview with Marc Surtees

10 months ago By Nuno Antunes

Ladies Team Manager, Marc Surtees, quick interview post 2-0 victory over local rival, Wargrave.

First game at home this season, sees the ladies team score 2 past Wargrave in a quick 3mins succession in the first 15minutes.

Following the 90mins, we caught up, with Marc Surtees, Ladies Team Manager to get his thoughts on the game.

What's with your view of today's victory?
I think we worked hard as a team, it was not a pretty game but we battled well, we took 2 early chances and then defended well

2-0 win against a local rival? That must feel special?
2. Any win is good but we have played Wargrave many times and we always know it will be a tough game. Always good to beat the local rivals especially when players from both teams know each other.

Number of chances both ways, with an even second half, what was missing to ensure it was a safe win at the end of the day?
I think as hard as we worked and battled we were unable to kill the game off with a 3rd goal. We were unable to make the final pass count when it mattered most

4 points from the first two games in the season? What can we expect from Woodley Utd Ladies?
It's a good start to the season but there is more to come. We have not been able to field a consistent team yet but when everyone is available we have good quality in every position and good competition for places. We can cause teams a lot of problems and we can expect this team to go from strength to strength

Next week, we will look to be speaking with a player, following a home tie against Alton FC for SSE Women's FA Cup.
