Woodley United gave their best performance of the season to return from bottom club Banbury United with a win and a first league clean sheet. The team was helped by the return of experienced defenders Kate Hardie, injury and Nicola Froud, birth of twins.
It was Hardie who opened the scoring with a rare goal firing home with a right foot drive from thirty yards on the half hour following a pass from Jess Grimmett. The lead was extended ten minutes later by Grimmett following a short corner with Ellen Surtees.
The second half belonged to Rosie Page-Smith who netted four times in a twenty five minute spell, to take her total for the season to twelve goals. Her first came on fifty minutes and her fourth on seventy five minutes courtesy of assists by Surtees twice, Grimmett and Hardie.
