United will look back and think how did they not take maximum points in a game where they created plenty of chances and saw Bracknell keeper Jo Anderson live a charmed life stopping goal bound efforts with all parts of the body coupled with some good saves.
Town enjoyed the opening ten minutes kicking down the slope, thereafter, the visitors were the dominate side in the first half with Rosie Page-Smith, Louise Thompson and Jo Walsh-Perks lively up front forcing corners seeing shots saved or narrowly go wide or when Anderson was beaten, cleared of the line.
The second half started in much the same vein but Town gradually got a toe hold and looked dangerous on the counter attack forcing a few corners, one of which saw Kate Hardie clear of the line before taking the lead with fifteen minutes remaining when a long range cross bounced of the underside of United’s bar and the home team reacted quickest to force the ball home.
With Woodley now chasing the game, Thompson drove over the bar and Anderson blocked Walsh-Perks before Bracknell scored a second with a header from a corner. But still United responded with Thompson scoring from distance and the dangerous Page-Smith shooting into the side netting in the dying seconds of the match.
