Three goals in the ten minute spell late in the second half gave Woodley United Ladies a second successive win and leaves them in sixth position in the league.
Playing up a sloping pitch and putting in a lethargic performance, United created chances to be leading at the break but instead found themselves a goal down to a Catherine MacDonald header when the centre back was left unmarked at a corner.
United best chances came early in the half via Ellen Surtees who saw one cross fly across the face of the goal and a shot cleared of the line with Flyers’ keeper Keris Abbot beaten. Following the goal Rosie Page-Smith hit the base of the upright while Becky Lowes narrowly failed to connect with a Mollie Haines cross.
The introduction of recent signing Tiffany Newland and half time couple with debutant Maddie Sawyer having a greater involvement resulted in United having greater second half energy and purpose as they played down the slope. With Lowes, Newland and Mollie Haines all shooting wide in the opening six minutes of the restart it looked a matter of time before the equaliser came and came it did on seventy two minutes when a Mollie Haines cross was headed home from close range by Lowes .
Page-Smith saw Abbot save five minutes later before Haines and Lowes combined to set Page-Smith up for the visitors’ second goal on seventy nine minutes. Page-Smith scored her second three minutes afterwards when another Mollie Haines cross evaded Lowes but Page-Smith squeezed the ball home at the far post.
Mention should be made of United’s defence led by Clara Stringer that offered stand in keeper Nicole Haines plenty of protection and who gave a competent performance donning the gloves.
