From Ascot’s kick off Woodley were on the attack and twice Jayne Rogers was called into action in the home goal in the opening five minutes clearing shots from Mollie Haines and Ellen Surtees. Woodley continue to press and despite enjoying good possession and width but struggled to covert chances against a four person defence aided by two deep holding midfielders. The scores were levelled on the half hour when Rosie Page-Smith played a one-two with Esther Hughes to fire past Rogers from eighteen yards.
Morgan Merryweather saw Rogers parry her shot and the follow up cleared while Ellen Surtees and Page-Smith were denied in one on one situations in the closing stages of the half.
Playing down the hill Ascot started the second half brightly but with the visitors’ back four led by Summers being strong, stand in keeper Bonnie Messitt was not troubled.
Dannielle Perryman’s pass found Mollie Haines on the hour for Haines to beat Rogers one on one to give Woodley the lead, with the advantage extend ten minutes later when Page-Smith again fired home from distance following a Thompson pass.
With Ascot having attack more they changed formation to three in defence with five in midfield but the change allowed Woodley to exploit space as the home side tired and score four times in the six minute spell.
A Summers' free kick was head into her own goal by a defender on eight two minutes and was immediately followed by Thompson scrambling the ball home from close range following a Rogers mistake a minute later.
Page-Smith completed her hat trick with five minutes remaining and Nicole Haines fired a low shot in with two minutes to complete the scoring and get a reward for her second half display that had seen her shoot wide on a number of occasions.
