Poor defending at corners was the undoing of United with QPR scoring on three occasions, with the all-important one giving the visitors a three goal lead in first half stoppage time.
QPR started strongly and took the lead on sixteen minutes when Chloe Sampson out sprinted the United defence to lob the ball over the advancing Emily Sherwood. Finding too much space in the middle of the part QPR continued to threaten and extended the lead on twenty five minutes when indecision in the United defence at a corner saw a weak shot rebound of the upright for Georgia Adams to have the simplest of tap ins.
This triggered United into a response who enjoyed the better of the remaining half and saw Mollie Haines have an effort ruled out for offside. However, United’s good response was undone in the second minute of stoppage time when Erin Pope was allowed to fire home from a corner.
The second half saw Woodley make changes to their formation and having seen Ellen Surtees kick of her own goal line on forty eight minutes took the game to QPR but were unable to find the goal to get back into the game It was another corner that lead to the final goal when an awkward bounce evade Jess Grimmett for the ball to be headed home by Allen.
United’s final chance fell to substitute Charlie Tippett who hit the side netting from close range.
