Spitfires lost this game 1-0 to a late penalty but should hold their heads high as they gave table topping Ashridge two good games over two successive Saturday’s; each team coming away with a 1-0 home win. Ahridge will win the league but Spitfires can look back on the season and rue some results, but not this one.
Ashridge probably did have the better chances with Leon again making two good saves and Jack making a goal line clearance but Spitfires also had good chances, particularly two falling to Josh and Robert. The goal came on 83 minutes from a penalty after Leon accidentally crashed into an Ashridge player when rushing out of his goal. Leon got his hands to the penalty but it was well hit.
Jack was awarded man of the match but it could have gone to any of the back five (including Leon).
