Spitfires started this game looking like they hadn't played for several weeks, not 2 and it was no surprise when Hurst took the lead on 8 minutes. Although the way they did was pretty unfortunate with Hurst's corner ricocheting off Russell, hitting the post and going in. Hurst doubled their lead on 30 minutes with a well taken chip over Leon after the striker was released from a through ball. That woke Spitfires up though and Sam and Charlie were each unlucky not to pull a goal back before half time.
The second half was better from Spitfires although they created very few clear cut chances. They did pull a goal back though from Sam's corner on the hour mark, with the ball falling to Robert in the middle of the goal 8 metres out to finish well. The equaliser came from a penalty when Sam was pulled down from behind after some good work down the left. Robert took the penalty and struck it to the keeper's left. 2-2! After that Hurst were on the back foot and Spitfires had chances to finish the game but couldn't make them count.
Robert was man of the match after a confident performance and for his important goals.
