Having lost in pre-season to Curley Park Rangers, Spitfires, loaded the midfield for this game and it worked, coming out on top with 4 goals and another clean sheet.
Spitfires were on top from the start to the final whistle and should probably have won more comfortably. The goals in the first half came from Josh on 33 minutes, slotting the ball home as it came across his body and right on the half time whistle from Sam; a goal he made all by himself pulling the ball back from the by-line and hitting it in the far top corner. Curley Park had one chance in the half but their number 9, clean through hit the ball straight at Leon who narrowed the angle well.
The second half followed the same pattern with the Spitfires midfield being on top and the defence cutting out any attack Curley Park did make. The second half goals were scored by Samien on 65 hitting the ball over the keeper from the edge of the area and from Harry, driving the ball hard past the keeper on 73 minutes. There were plenty of chances to extend the lead further in the last 17 minutes but the finishing could have been better.
So the game finished 4 nil, a well deserved win.
Man of the match could have gone to any of the players but was give to Alex S
