This was a close battle between these local rivals. Winnersh started and ended the game the better team but Woodley United played well between those periods.
Winnersh went 1-0 down on 6 minutes when the ball was played in behind Woodley's defence for Winnersh's pacey striker to run onto. With Ben rushing out, the striker got there just ahead of Ben who got finger tips on the shot but not enough stop the goal being scored. That goal woke Woodley up though and on 14 minutes Corin struck the ball from just outside the area over the Winnersh keeper and into the net. 1-1 and game on. A few minutes later Woodley had a series of corners and Robert put a perfect corner over which HArry met - probably more with his shoulder than his head but it was a pleasing goal to see after the corner practice in training. For the remainder of the first half, Woodley marginally had the better play but without creating any clear chances to increase the lead.
The second half start with neither team creating much in a scrappy period. Woodley had a couple of decent passages of play with Dylan down the left but it was Winnersh who grew into the game. With 5 minutes left and Woodley still 2-1 up, Winnersh started to look dangerous and hit the post with a snap shot. Then on 78 minutes, Winnersh had a corner which was very well met by the Winnersh goal scorer. Winnersh finished strongly and had a couple of other corners but no more clear chances so the game finished 2-2.
