Robert's goal not enough to avoid defeat to Whiteknights
The Spitfire's performance today was good but the final ball and finishing not up to the standard of the rest of the play. Unfortunately two mistakes in the first half saw a good half's performance come to nothing with Whiteknights taking the chances presented to them well. So 2-0 down at half time but all not lost.
The second half saw more dominance from The Spitfires but the only reward was a good goal from Robert from the edge of the box over the Whiteknight's keeper's head. The game ended with goal mouth scramble where it seemed hard to believe the ball didn't cross the line and then with the last kick of the game, Robert poked the ball centimetres wide of the right of the goal. So the game ended 1-2, the better team lost but again you earn the points by scoring more goals than the opposition and we didn't manage that. Lots of positives though to take into next week.
