Spitfires lost this game to Fleet because of two mistakes made at either end of the first half. But it was the missed chances that we rue coming away from the match. The list was endless but at 0-1, Harrison hitting the bar following an excellent cross from the left and Danny bursting through but lacking the composure to hit the target. And then a string of chances in a second half where Fleet rarely ventured into Spitfires half. Some examples were Corin, hitting the bar 3 minutes into the half, Samien hitting his shot straight at the keeper on the edge of the six-yard box, Zak shooting in the corner but lacking pace, Russell heading over from a corner.
So the final score was 2-0 and whilst Spitfires had chances in the first half, the overall play was scrappy. Much better in the second half but the finishing can only get better.
Robert showed some good touches and creativity and was man of the match.
