Games to be played 19-20 January

The first team return to league action at the weekend after three consecutive cup games; two of them taking place over the last week. On Saturday United came from behind to beat Chalvey Sports, in the process booking themselves a place in the next round of the Bluefin Sports Supplementary Cup where they have been drawn away at Milton United. Two days later Woodley battled back from two down to take Hellenic Premier League side Ardley United to extra time before bowing out of the Reading Senior Cup. This weekend sees United host leaders Burnham.

After a penalty shootout win a fortnight ago the Royals faced leaders Cookham Dean last Saturday. Another solid showing from Woodley saw them restrict Cookham to a 1-0 win. This weekend sees United visit fifth placed Westwood United.

The ‘A’ side were four goals up at half time in last weeks big game at Hambleden. The hosts pulled two back in the second half but Woodley saw out the match to go top of the TVPL Division three. With the team they overtook getting a points deduction Woodley have a nine point lead. Their next game is away at basement side Pangbourne.

Sunday Teams

Congratulations go to the first team who picked up their first point of the season sharing six goals with SC United. Sunday sees a home game with third place Henley Town. This is the first meeting between the sides this season.

The reserves followed up their emphatic 9-0 win at Winkfield with a disappointing loss to bottom of the table. They have a tricky game at home to Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW who have beaten Woodley twice this season.
