Games to be played 15-17 December

The first team rebounded from their defeat to Burnham with back to back wins over the last week. Saturday saw them get the better of Abingdon Town in a league match before a superb showing at Farnham Town on Tuesday evening saw them advance in the Aldershot Senior Cup. They have two games before the Christmas break starting with a trip to Holyport on Saturday. The teams have played each other three times in cup competitions this season with Holyport getting the better of Woodley on each occasion. Since the end of September United have really turned a corner winning nine out of their fourteen fixtures and a win will see them go level on points with their opponents. On Monday they get to test how far they have come over the last two and a half months when they host Hellenic Premier Binfield in the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup.

Both the Royals last two games have been postponed due to the weather. This is their last game of the year so will hope to end 2018 with a positive result in what has been a difficult season so far. No easy feat however as they visit third placed Mortimer.

The ‘A’ side also have a tough fixture at leaders Berks County Reserves; a team that have won eight out of nine. Woodley won 2-1 when the sides met in the BBFA Intermediate Cup in mid October and a win will see them up to second.

Sunday Teams

A narrow loss to Aydin last Sunday saw the first team cut adrift at the foot of the table. They go to third placed Henley Town on Sunday in the first meeting between the sides this season.

The Reserves host second placed Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW. After two promotions United have done well in their new division picking up a credible ten points so far. This game won’t be easy as Wokingham have beaten them twice this season.
