Games to be played 8-11 December

On a rainy weekend which saw many matches postponed the first team saw their good run come to an end at leaders Burnham; this was Woodley’s first league defeat in two months. They will look to get back to winning ways when they host Abingdon Town on Saturday. The sides met on the opening day of the season with Town running out 6-4 winners in a crazy game. Since then Abingdon have lost a lot of financial backing with many players jumping ship. Both teams will be putting out very different sides to those that lined up at the start of August. On the Tuesday, United get to test themselves against Hellenic Premier League opposition when they welcome Ardley United to Rivermoor Stadium.

The Royals game last week was rained off meaning their trip to Richings Park will be their first league game in three weeks. Last time they played a league match they picked up their first away point of the season; a win this week could see them off the foot of the table.

The ‘A’ team have now won three league games in a row to move up to third in the table. An eighty ninth minute winner saw them run out 4-3 winners in their last game. They have their first home league game in well over a month when they face second bottom Goring United Reserves on Saturday.

Sunday Teams

After playing each other four weeks ago Woodley and Aydin play meet once again at the weekend. With one win between them in fourteen games, Aydin won 7-4 when the teams met, both sides will be keen to turn their fortunes around. United are the away side this time.

The Sunday Reserves are without a match.
