Games to be played 3-6 November

Goals from Pablo Fernandez and Leon Mannion gave Woodley’s First Team a deserved victory last Saturday in their game at Chalvey. This was United’s first league points of the season with Tom Bryant also becoming the first Woodley keeper to keep a clean sheet. On Monday evening United went down to a 2-1 home defeat to AFC Aldermaston; the score was harsh on Woodley who were the better team for large periods of the game. The two teams meet again on Tuesday, in what will be the fourth match between the sides this season. United need a win to stand any chance of progressing from their group in the Hellenic League Division ONE Subsidary Cup.

A narrow loss for the Royals along with Berks County picking up a surprise point in their game with high flying Reading YMCA last weekend sees Woodley at the foot of the Thames Valley Premier League. They host eighth placed Richings Park this week.

After playing the side directly below them last Saturday the ‘A’ team face the side directly above them in their next fixture. United will be looking for revenge on Twyford & Ruscombe who thrashed them when the teams last met at the start of October. Twyford are the home side this time.

Sunday Teams

The Reserves return to league action after a heavy cup defeat last time out when they host leaders AFC Crowthorne Swifts. Woodley have won their last two in the league whilst their opponents have picked up maximum points from all but one of their games and are yet to be defeated.

The Sunday First Team do not play this weekend.
