Games to be played 29 September-1 October

The First Team played three times over the last week. On Saturday they went down to a 3-0 defeat at home to Penn & Tylers Green in the league before a poor second half at Holyport saw a 6-0 loss in the Hellenic League Division One Subsidary Cup on Tuesday evening. Two days later a friendly took place at Feltham YOI with the sides playing out a 2-2 draw. Without a game on Saturday, United host Wokingham & Emmbrook on Monday.

After four defeats in five league games the Royals find themselves second bottom. They have a home match against Westwood United; a win will see Woodley go above their opponents.

The ‘A’ side have started with one big league win and one heavy cup defeat. This Saturday sees them visit Reading YMCA Rapids in the Berkshire Trophy Centre Intermediate Cup. This will be a very tough games as Reading play two divisions above United.

Sunday Teams

Despite it only being September the First Team complete their league fixtures against Twyford Comets at the weekend. The sides have had contrasting starts; Woodley have lost two out of two with a goal difference of minus six whilst Twyford have started with back to back victories and a goal difference of plus six. Comets won 6-1 when the teams met a fortnight ago.

Last week saw the Reserves home encounter with Athletico Ascot postponed. This Sunday sees the return match due to be played between the teams that were both promoted last season. Ascot have started with two draws whilst United lost to a Loveman United side who have won three out of three in their only league game so far.
