Games to be played 19-22 January

It was a bad weekend for the four Saturday sides last week as they all tasted defeat. The first team went down to a 2-0 loss at Brimscombe & Thrupp; their first defeat of the year. Woodley play twice in four days with the first game at Binfield. This is the third meeting between the sides this season; United got their first ever win at Step 5 at the start of the September before an extra time goal saw Binfield knock Woodley out of the Bluefin Sports (UHL) Challenge Cup a month later. Then on Monday United host Windsor in the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup; this will be the third attempt to play the fixture after the weather saw the previous two games postponed.

After a narrow loss to Mortimer's first team in their last game the Royals visit their reserve side on Saturday. This is a Reading Junior Challenge Cup game and with two divisions separating the sides Woodley will hope to get their first positive result since October.

The 'A' team suffered a heavy cup loss in their last match. They go to a Wargrave side who have lost only one league game this season. United are currently sixth in the nine team division having picked up eleven points from ten games.

The 'B' side also went out of a cup last weekend losing 3-1 to Goring United Reserves. Like the 'A' team they are back in league action on Saturday. They host leaders Taplow United 'A'; victory for Woodley will see them get within two points of their opponents.

Sunday Teams

United play only their second game of 2018 on Sunday hosting Le Galaxy. This is seventh versus fourth. The sides drew 1-1 when they met in November.

The Reserves have a massive game when they take on second placed and undefeated Warfield United. Woodley currently have a one point lead over Warfield so three points will see daylight at the top.
